The Wine Advocate:

The 2023 Balado has aromatic intensity and is still very primary and undeveloped, combining power and good development of aromas and flavors with more finesse and elegance. It has 13.5% alcohol and a velvety texture; it went through full malolactic, which gives some creaminess, but it's neatly balanced by the granite minerality. The wine is still fresh and has longevity. 4,200 bottles and 150 magnums were filled in early June 2024. - Luis Gutiérrez.

James Suckling:

A single-vineyard albarino with citrus, herbs and a touch of fennel on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, subtle, harmonious, clean and minerally. Drink now. This comes from a single vineyard in Meano. Drink or hold. - Jacobo Garcia-Andrade Llamas, Senior Editor.

Tim Atkin:

Balado hails from a 0.45-hectare walled vineyard (or balo in Spanish) that was planted on its own roots around 1900. Fermented in stainless steel with 50% malolactic, it has flavours of pear, lime and greengage, some subtle struck match reduction and a racy, mineral-etched finish. 2024-28
