Tim Atkin:

Límite Sur is a varietal Garnacha from the Monte Yerga that is getting better with every vintage. Sourced from north- facing vines at 600 metres, it has engaging rose petal and
mountain herb aromas, sappy red cherry, pomegranate and wild strawberry fruit, savoury tannins and a mineral core. The Rioja Oriental at its best. 2025-34

Falstaff:

A subtle floral note precedes profound notions of red cherry and crushed, ripe plum and forest fruit. The palate is wonderfully pure: the intensity of tart, ripe, juicy plum and crushed red cherry is immense and complemented by hints of nutmeg and allspice. The tannins are silky and the translucent body is characterised by vivid fruit, wonderful depth, real freshness and lovely length.

James Suckling:

Lovely floral aromas of rose petals, tea, tile and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is fresh, with tangy, tasty red fruit character, tight but very drinkable and enjoyable at this point. A bright, savory finish despite the nervy profile. Made from pure garnacha, partly old head-pruned vines with younger ones, at high altitude in Sierra de Yerga. This is in Rioja Oriental, in the southern part of the appellation. Aged in amphorae and concrete with the final stage of homogenization taking place in French oak. Drink now or hold.

Decanter:

Somewhat light in colour with all the hallmark raspberry and red cherry aromas of Garnacha, this is a vibrant and refreshing red. Mint, thyme and a touch of wild lavender open up to a lively palate with stony minerality. Tannins are seductively ripe and juicy, possibly aided by part fermentation in concrete with a portion of whole-cluster fruit, while a post-blending period of eight months in oak delicately caresses the wine with discreet, fine-grained woody notes. Elegant and poised.
