Los Radales del Buradón 2022

The red 2022 Los Radales del Buradòn is pure Tempranillo from a plot in the paraje or lieu-dit of La Rad in the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, planted in 1978 in a place known for its silky and chalky tannins. It fermented with 30% full clusters that were foot trodden with a maceration of 30 days, really an infusion. It matured in used 500-liter barrels for 16 months with the fine lees. It's structured but floral, with contained ripeness, a low 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.6, quite balanced for the conditions of the 2022 vintage. It has abundant, fine-grained tannins with some grip and very good freshness. It's serious and still young, with some spicy oak notes, and should develop nicely in bottle. 1,600 bottles were filled in September 2024. - Luis Gutiérrez.
