Descripción

Le Petit Mouton es el segundo vino de Château Mouton Rothschild. 2013 será recordado por su climatología variable y caprichosa. Un invierno muy frío seguido de una primavera calurosa y seca. Los meses de julio y agosto fueron calurosos y soleados, con una pluviometría inferior a la media, aunque con algunas violentas tormentas a finales de julio. La escasez de agua continuó en septiembre, alentando a las uvas a madurar uniformemente, logrando satisfactorios niveles de azúcar y un buen potencial de acidez. La vendimia en Mouton Rothschild se completó en un tiempo récord entre el 30 de septiembre y el 9 de octubre.

"The 2012 Le Petit Mouton represents 38% of the crop, which is much higher than the normal 25% that usually makes it into the second wine. Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it reveals similar black currant liqueur notes, but they are less intense and pervasive. Administrator Philippe Dhalluin has fashioned a wonderfully opulent, round, juicy Petit Mouton exhibiting plenty of chocolaty notes intermixed with a subtle hint of oak offered in a lush, easily understood style. Enjoy this charming, endearing Le Petit Mouton over the next 15+ years".
