The Wine Advocate:

So, what did my favorite single-vineyard Garnacha do in 2017? Well, the 2017 La Danza del Viento La Isilla has managed to keep its more ethereal and floral character better than the majority of wines from the village of Cadalso de los Vidrios, where the small plot of old vines have been recovering since 2013 is. The soil has very fine sand and is quite shallow, and the granite mother rock is almost on the surface in the central part of the vineyard, which is located at 860 meters in altitude and in 2017 yielded no more than 900 kilos of grapes per hectare. There are perhaps some 2% Cariñena grapes, and all the grapes fermented together with full clusters and without adding any yeasts (or anything) for 41 days. It matured in a 500-liter oak barrel for 14 months. Well, the wine is as ethereal, delicate and floral as the previous vintages, every bit as good as the 2016, nuanced and complex, with notes of rose petals but also white flowers, and the palate has great balance and very fine, chalky tannins. It keeps its poise better than any of the other 2017s—it's ethereal and perfumed, with nothing warm or ripe about it, really impressive. Only 630 bottles were filled in May 2018.
