Decanter:

There's a 50-metre difference in altitude from the foot of the hill to the top, and the grapes used for this wine occupy the higher ground where there is more stone and gravel mixed in with the chalk. Crunchy hedgerow fruits are joined by a touch of samp earth, chocolate and violets. The palate is juicy and intense, warm and smooth with soft tannins. A three-day-old bottle was also tasted, demonstrating a massive charcuterie flavour and less obvious dryness but still retaining violet overtones.
