Meningen van critici

James Suckling:

Good depth with fine oak spices, citrus and berries. Vibrant and medium-bodied but compact and even, with silky but vivid tannins, juicy berry fruit and a lengthy finish. Good chalky tannins offer fine grip. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.

Decanter:

Lovely floral and herbal nose - raspberry yoghurt, blackcurrant leaf, perfume, tobacco and liquorice. Super fragranced. Chewy and bright, but clean, this has some density but is presented with really quite mineral edges - wet stones, chalk, graphite and pencil lead come out almost straight away also with some bitter orange rind and dark chocolate touches. The flavours are lovely and there is purity here, it’s missing a little bit more density, but the vibrancy is there in spades. Crystalline finish. Not bad at all. Has a lovely outline and lingering flavour. 10% press wine. A yield of 22hl/ha. South exposure. Ageing 100% new oak. 3.5pH

The Wine Advocate:

Offering up aromas of blackberries, minty raspberries and sweet toasty oak, the 2024 La Clotte is medium to full-bodied, dense and vibrant, with tangy acids, chalky tannins and a penetrating finish.

Tim Atkin:

Earthy and spicy aromas with bright red and black fruits underneath. Concentrated and a little closed. Rich red and black fruit flavours with some lithe acidity and tannins and great freshness. This is a very classically structured St Emilion which should be drinking well in the mid to long term.
