La "parte degli angeli", in francese la part des anges, non è solo il nome poetico che si dà alla parte di volume di un vino che evapora durante l'affinamento in botte, ma è anche un Châteauneuf du Pape da manuale, anche se con uno stile un po' più moderno, fatto da Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils. Il potente Monastrell è il vitigno che domina l'uvaggio, completato da Garnacha e Syrah per dare vita a un rosso vellutato, lungo e delizioso

Vendemmia manuale dopo una maturazione tardiva della varietà Monastrell, che è al limite della sua zona di crescita.
Vinificazione
Lavorazione in vasche di cemento.
Invecchiamento
Il Garnacha invecchia in una combinazione di piccole vasche di cemento e foudres Stockinger. Il Syrah e il Monastrell invecchiano in barrique da 225 litri, l'80% delle quali nuove.
Imbottigliamento
Non viene filtrato prima dell'imbottigliamento, quindi potrebbero esserci dei sedimenti naturali.

A blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache Noir and 10% Syrah, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape la Part des Anges wafts from the glass with aromas of flowers, dark wild berries, tapenade, spices and ripe mulberries. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's generous and enveloping with velvety tannins, a fleshy core of fruit and a harmonious, long and vibrant finish. It is worth a special effort to seek out. Matured in foudres and large barrels.

James Suckling:

This powerful and full-bodied Chateauneuf has enormous black olive character plus notes of tar and leather. Huge tannins, but there's nothing extreme about them, and the cocoa character at the imposing finish is quite restrained. A cuvee of 70% mourvedre, 20% greanche and 10% syrah from biodynamically grown grapes. Exceptionally for this producer, the wine is matured in demi muids and foudre wooden casks. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

More modern styled, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Part Des Anges is a blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, and 10% Syrah raised in foudre and demi-muid. Spicy black raspberries, red plums, spicy oak, graphite, and peppery herb notes all shine here, and it brings ample richness and depth on the palate, with medium to full body, ripe, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep through 2037.
