The Wine Advocate:

"The 2011 Campo Eliseo is clearly a powerful and concentrated wine, reaching 15% alcohol. They didn’t produce 2010 or 2007 from this cuvee, which they reserve for special vintages. I also tasted 2009 and 2008 and I feel they have managed to extract less drying tannins in 2011 than in the past. It has abundant notes of Belgium chocolate, smoked peat, leather and blackberries. The palate is full-bodied, with the alcohol very well-integrated, big but balanced, looking for elegance, as power is automatically provided by nature. A big, powerful Toro that needs time and powerful food. It is a little closed and was not so expressive at first, which is not negative in my book and often denotes a serious and balanced wine. They have produced this wine since 2001. Drink 2016-2024."

James Sukling:

"A very polished and richly fruited wine with dark plums and attractive spices. A slick palate with slippery black cherry, plum and blackberry fruit flavors. Tannins just collapse at the finish. Drink now."
