Tim Atkin:

Finca Helena is a pre-phylloxera parcel in La Aguilera, planted on what Diana Moreno calls "beach sand". Aged in 50% new French oak, this varietal Tinto Fino is typical of Abadia de San Quirce's style, showing elegance, brightness, perfume and balance. Focused and refreshing with granular tannins and mountain herb and blackberry flavours. 2025-32

James Suckling:

Dusty spices with blackberries, black chocolate, licorice and violets. Full and structured on the palate with a plethora of dusty tannins that linger in the long, tight finish. Drink from 2025. (Zekun Shuai).

The Wine Advocate:

The 2022 Finca Helena comes from a vineyard in the village of La Aguilera, fermented destemmed with indigenous yeasts in oak vats and matured in new French oak barrels for 12 months. It comes in at 14.4% alcohol, with a pH of 3.7 and 4.8 grams of acidity. It has ripe berry fruit and generous oak. The palate reveals lots of tannins that give it an astringent profile, and it's not easy at the moment. Maybe it will improve with more time in bottle? 3,964 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2024.
