The single-vineyard 2021 Amancio shows a lot of complexity, with notes of ripe fruit, aromatic herbs and a touch of licorice. It fermented in small oak vats and matured in new French oak barrels, including malolactic, for 26 months. They believe the complexity of the wine, that some people call baroque, comes from the many different soils they have in a plot of 16.5 hectares, from which they make a very strict selection of the plants that have less bunches. This wine has more freshness and is less balsamic than in other vintages. This is a more powerful wine, if La Nieta is more elegant. 6,000 bottles were filled in February 2024. (Luis Guitérrez)
