Mirabelles 2019

Expertenbewertungen
The 2019 Mirabelles was produced with the scarce and characterful Malvasía de Sitges, a grape that was almost lost, from the Mediterranean (Greece) but adapted to Penedès where it delivers very different wines—savory, almost salty wines for food that are as far removed as the weed wines often produced with the grape. This was regrafted on Chardonnay vines. It fermented and matured in red clay amphorae. It has a deep golden color and an expressive and forward nose with citrus notes, yellow fruit and flowers. It's aromatic but without excess and has high acidity; it has 10.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.21 and 5.2 grams of acidity. It's medium-bodied with a dry and tasty finish. 3,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020. - Luis Gutiérrez.
Driven, fresh and softly textured, with glimpses of the ripe fruit and phenolic smokiness that make Malvasia de Sitges such an interesting grape. 2024-2028
