Black berries and dark leather with some crushed slate and blue fruits on the nose. Some dark mushrooms. It’s full-bodied and chewy with lots of toasted oak. Rich and flavorful but remains linear and fresh. Drink after 2025.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero d’Avola, Tannat and other grapes from southwest Sicily, matured for 14 months in first and second-use barriques and then in bottle for a further 24 months or more. Dark red and black fruit aromas introduce an intense and balsamic wine with good structure and freshness. Currants and hedgerow berries mingle, underlined by grippy tannins. Powerful, well balanced and long, this will reward further time in the cellar.
donnafugata is in 1983 opgericht door de familie Rallo en zet zich in voor het promoten van lokale druivensoorten. Ze verbouwen hun wijngaarden in heel verschillende omgevingen in het hart van het Middellandse Zeegebied.
