L'Esprit de Chevalier Rouge 2024 en Primeur

A juicy, crunchy expression with red cherries, berries and olives. Nicely chewy, with a medium body and a succulent, medium-long finish. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 5% petit verdot.

he 2024 L'Esprit de Chevalier was cropped at 48 hl/ha between September 20 and October 8. This has a subtle, well-defined nose, with a mixture of black cherries, blueberries, and hints of cassis. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, fine grip and a very small attenuation toward the finish but I appreciate the lingering, black olive-tinged aftertaste. Juicy black cherries, leafy tobacco, and gravelly earth notes all emerge from the 2024 Esprit De Chevalier, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot brought up in 30% new oak. Medium-bodied and bright on the palate, with higher acidity and ripe tannins, it shows a nicely textured mouthfeel and solid length.
