Château Nénin 2024 en Primeur
Fiche technique
L'avis des experts
Bright, scented and juicy, showing fresh berries and red cherries plus a beautiful floral expression. Quite refined and evenly packed with integrated fine tannins and a long, succulent finish. Good volume on its medium-bodied palate. Linear, honest and elegant. No saignee. 54% merlot, 38% cabernet franc and 8% cabernet sauvignon. The lowest proportion of merlot this year.
Soft perfume, vanilla, cherries, blackcurrants and lots of perfume. Smells quite heady actually - some blackcurrant leaf aspects and violets with chocolate. Smooth and supple, this has a richness and concentration from the start - gently chewy - but with a juicy core and really tangy fruit. Definitely not plush but this has weight and such interest. Really not trying too hard, so elongated and focussed but not grippy, or lean. Drinkable and finessed. Ageing 40% new barrels for 16 months. 5.3% press. 3.64pH. - Georgina Hindle.
The 2024 Nénin is redolent of dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and new leather. The strong presence of Cabernets, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, in this vintage yields a Grand Vin that is quite different in style and personality from the Fugue. That has not always been the case. I have to say, this style for Nénin is quite appealing. The 2024 is a touch slender—that is inescapable—but the direction here is extremely positive. - Antonio Galloni.
Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Black berries, delicate notes of cassis and blackberry, delicate savouriness, orange zest. Juicy, elegant, red berry texture, ripe tannins, good freshness, mineral lemon finish, a versatile food companion.
A blend of 54% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Nenin bursts with aromas of raspberries, cherries, licorice and rose petals. Medium-bodied, supple and lively, it's a fragrant, nicely integrated wine that represents a strong effort for the vintage. - William Kelley.
The 2024 Château Nenin is 54% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, all resting in 40% new oak. Ripe darker cherries, juicy cassis, graphite, and smoky, tobacco notes all emerge on the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, elegant mouthfeel and soft tannins. It's very much in the charming, accessible, well-made style of the vintage and estate.
Quite closed and brooding with dense fruit extract and spices. Rich and inviting. Palate flooding depth and another exposition that Pomerol was one of the appellations of this difficult vintage. Really lovely depth and extract of fruit and tannins, backed up with great freshness and length.
